First Concept
The first concept model designed in Solidworks: a basic frame, steering wheel, seat and wheels.
After exploring existing market products, it was observed that there was a not a lot to offer in regards to all-terrain mobility that would include reduced mobility customers. Therefore we proceeded with our first concept model: a tricycle that could be used by anybody and anywhere.
Power and Transmission are operated using a battery powered electric motor, coupled to a sprocket and chain.
The seat structure was designed with ergonomics in mind, having three angles of freedom: length to steering wheel, height, and angle. The material and shape of the seat was also taken in mind to provide maximum comfort. The tricycle is also equipped with support for the knees.
Given that this vehicle is capable of going offroad, it needs to be equipped with a good suspension kit, to provide stability when riding the tricycle and to absorb bumps and road hazards. The system is composed by two spring/damper elements, one per front wheel.
In this section it is possible to see every single feature developed for this vehicle and also a compilation of photorealistic renders. Check out what Project TRY-ON has to offer!

Added upgrade to the first concept, now featuring brakes, suspension system and a soft knee support.
The new tricycle version features a lightweight frame, electric motor and an electronic display!
For the more adventurous, the tricycle is equipped with a lighting system just in case! It also comes in a new fresh coat of paint!
The position that the user takes when driving the vehicle.
The display contains useful info for the user, such as a date/clock widget, the percentage of battery level and an analog compass!
Contains all the features, including the battery, a water bottle case and functioning headlight!
The best offroad TRYcycle. Switch it ON and adventure yourself!
Project was a success and it proved to be a great tool to learn and practice 3D CAD using Solidworks. Modelling practices involved 3D Solid design, surface design, assembly design, adding simple and complex assembly constraints, dynamics animation and photorealism rendering.
